Hygiene after Harvesting Peonies
After the harvest, the remaining (often small) flowers are removed by hand or by knife so the remaining nutrition can be dispersed to the root. It also prevents diseases from spreading around.
It is recommended to remove all dead organic material from the surface. Peonies like a clean surface and require nutrition and chalk.
